Led by Don Marrazzo, Head of the MHC's Vocal Studies Department and Professor of Voice, and collaborative pianist and coach Yannis Aeriniotis, the MHC's French Mélodie Class will offer participants the opportunity to explore the rich canon of the French Art Song repertoire and examine the relationships between poetry and music; singer and pianist; and performers and their audiences. Through lectures and individualized one-on-one coaching of selected works by Gabriel Fauré, Henri Duparc, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, and Francis Poulenc, participants in the MHC's French Mélodie Class will become throughly acquainted with the history, style, and performance practices of the works of these revered French composers.
